Madarasatu Abu-Huraiara Islamiyya Wattahfizul Quran was established in 2018 as a community-based Islamic school dedicated to providing quality Islamic education, Qur'anic memorization, discipline and moral upbringing. What began with fewer than ten students has grown into a respected institution serving the Muslim community of Azare and beyond.
The school was founded by Malam Ibrahim Adamu (Malam Abba). Classes started after Fajr prayers with fewer than ten students under the name Marja'ussunnah.
Teaching sessions moved to between Maghrib and Isha prayers, leading to a significant increase in student enrolment and expansion of teaching staff.
Malam Ibrahim Muhammad Usman became the second Headmaster and introduced major institutional reforms.
The school organised its first graduation ceremony on 5 August 2023 and successfully graduated its pioneer graduating class.
Leadership was transferred to Malam Umar Adamu Ahmad, who introduced curriculum improvements and constitutional development.
Malam Yusuf Muhammad assumed leadership and continues strengthening academic excellence, administration and institutional development.
